Consulting & Design Services
Planning for a building project can be confusing, time-consuming and very stressful. It can be hard to plan any project if you don’t know what you can and can’t do with the space you have or want to add. And it can be just as hard to figure out what you can and cannot afford.
I've spent about 10 years of my career as a Construction Project Manager, overseeing a variety of construction projects for a couple different general contractors. In that time, I've seen quite a bit of good, bad and ugly. In doing so, I've developed a number of ways in which to simplify the process.
When doing an initial site visit, I often offer up potential explanations and provide ideas for consideration. I also provide written estimates for any project of substance, broken down into a way that allows the customer to make appropriate decisions. This is all done free of charge.
On top of that, I do offer a more robust version of planning, albeit for a fee. I can help with planning and budgeting, provide digital plans and construction drawings, do code compliance checks for building specifications, permit assistance, and issue construction documents to be used for trades and suppliers. I can also make recommendations for said trades and suppliers.
These services are primarily for the “Homeowner GC” who wants to hire trades and purchase supplies directly but needs a little bit of help with the details. I can also act as a “2nd set of eyes” for customers who have hired a general contractor but are looking for peace of mind. Occasionally, I hire myself out to builders or general contractors, to assist their management teams.
